My scary trip to the doctor

… Not too long ago…I had to go see the Doc. Nothing to embarrassing thank God ) Just a funny looking lump on my hand.

But worrying all the same. It just came up from nowhere. After Googling ‘hand cancer’ my stomach started to churn with fear. I needed some re assurance. Thing was though-my normal Doc was on holidays

… So I was forced to go to one of those public clinics in town.

And that’s a big mistake- so I later found out. As the Doctors in there seem more paranoid about making a mistake than any other Doctor. As the Doc examined my hand-he had a perplexed look on his face. He also looked a little nervous.

“I think it harmless he said- but it could be cancer- so we better get a biopsy just to be on the safe side” I thought Doctors were not supposed to drop the ‘C word’ so casually.

Anyhoo- there was something in the way he talked which made me doubt his expertise. So a week later- I toddled along to my family Doctor…who assured me it was nothing. And guess what- the lump vanished 2 weeks later. ( Good aul family Doc) Crisis averted.

Stand down from red alert. Anyways…here’s why I’m telling you this. You can’t always trust people. Even experts.
